Betty Pauline Scovell Obituary
Betty Pauline Scovell, 86, of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully on Friday, February 03, 2017 at Kansas City Hospice House surrounded by her family. She was born March 30, 1930 in Springfield to the late Wayne and Virginia Fredrick. Betty lived her life faithfully and was a devoted wife, loving mother of 3 sons, a cherished grandmother and a loyal friend to many wonderful people. Much of her time the last 30 years was spent selflessly caring for her special needs grandson, Ryan, whom she adored. She was a member of the art group, World Arts, for over 40 years and recently enjoyed her new talent of painting with her fellow artists. She always looked forward to and enjoyed the fun times with her lunch bunch. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, David and her grandson, Ryan Scovell and brothers Robert and Jack Fredrick. She is survived by her sons Jim (Mindy); Mark (Missy) and Joe (Aimee) all from the Kansas City area; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Springfield, MO. Private burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, Betty requested that contributions be made in her memory to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care 1500 Meadow Lake Pkwy, STE 200 Kansas City MO 64114.
